Made and submitted for the 2024-1 Pirate Software Game Jam by team "Pectin Chain"

Overview

Gelatoss! is a couch competitive game, so grab a friend! The goal of the game is to simply score more points than the other player with your given roster of slimes. The twist, however, is that you *will* end up with more slimes on the field than you started with.  So do your best to accurately slide your slimes into slippery spots amidst a chaotic game of slipping, sliding, sliming, and splitting where each round keeps you on your toes!

Tutorial and Mechanics

To begin, click and drag a slime from your roster onto the starting line to lock them in.

You can move your mouse vertically to fine tune their vertical positioning.

When you’re ready to launch, click your slime and drag back. The length which you draw determines the strength of your launch, and the angle which you pull back at determines the angle they’re launched at.  Let go to launch!
You can cancel a launch by bringing your launch strength back down and releasing while over the slime. 

When a slime hits another slime with sufficient speed, there’s a chance one, or both, slimes will ‘split’ in half, reducing their size as well as their scoring modifier.

Slimes

• Large (default) slimes have a 4x multiplier 
• Medium slimes have a 2x multiplier
• Tiny slimes have a 1x  multiplier

Scoring

Score is calculated by each slime and its position on the board’s scoring areas.

• Central red is worth 25 points
• Yellow areas are worth 10 points
• Blue area is worth 5 points
• The 4 corner red jackpots are worth 100 points each

Jackpots and hollow zones (such as the areas denoted by the yellow outlines) can only be claimed by slimes that have split at least once.
